“I was born & brought up in the holy city officially known as Varanasi, which I still call by its old name, Banaras. After spending almost 15 years in Banaras for my schooling, I moved to Allahabad (now Prayagraj) for two years to stay with my grandparents and pursue my 11th & 12th standard education.
I was raised in an overprotective environment. That’s why I’ve always wished to move away from my hometown. With some lack of self-confidence and fear in my heart, I applied and got accepted to Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune. This changed my life completely.
For the first time in my life, I was left unsupervised & I felt so free. Of course, the cost of freedom was ghar ka khaana and many other comforts. But, nothing made me happier than learning to cook my own food, saving money or handling my own rented apartment. Like Elon Musk has rightly said — “I think college is basically for fun and to prove that you can do your chores, but they’re not for learning” and I couldn’t agree more. Those 3 years (2013–2016) were only about learning how to do my chores. ;)
It was during my college years that I developed an interest in Photography and organizing campus events. This led me to join an event management company in Pune. I learned a lot about events, and product & street photography. However, I soon realised that photography is something very special to me, but it isn’t something that I would like to associate with money.
So, I decided to move ahead and pursue my masters in global business management. This gave a brand new direction to my career; I began my journey in the start-up space back in 2017 but it was only when I joined CarJasoos in 2019 that I felt like I was making a real difference. This was my first official job right after my masters.
My boss and mentor, Bhavna Tandon inspired me to do look deep & find out exactly what I want to do in life. From being an engagement consultant to entering into the astonishing world of content writing — she has supported me at each stage.
I believe I’m an explorer — and I’m currently exploring the world of digital marketing.
In this journey of exploration, I became a part of Tummoc. Here, I’m involved in growth and social media marketing. Thanks to Monalisha Thakur who introduced me to this interesting world of Growth Marketing, I learn something new each day.
My favourite part of working at Tummoc is that I get to be a part of this big revolution that we’re trying to bring to the commuters of India. Being someone who has stayed away from home for 9 years who has always relied on public transport, I really believe Tummoc is the need of the hour for every commuter.
