Riddhi’s #CommuteKahani

“Let me tell you about an incident I’m never (ever) going to forget. My brother and I were traveling from Lower Parel to Andheri. We had just visited my grandparent’s place and we decided to take on the responsibility to deliver a parcel to our aunt’s place. And that was our first mistake.

So, there we were, at the railway station, clueless of just how crowded the train would get after Dadar. We hopped into the madness, put our belongings safely away, and were on our way. Of course, it was just as hard to get off the train as it was to get on. And a fleeting moment after we celebrated landing on the platform, we realized our biggest mistake: We had left the bag that was “safely” put away on the rack in the train.

This bag seemed like a normal zipper bag, but it had stuff worth over 20k in it that didn’t even belong to us, and we could not have been freaking out more.

The train had already left, so we rushed to the station master. He told us that the train would come back to the other platform in 15 minutes, so now we rushed there. The train reached at the same time as we did, and we frantically ran through compartments looking for the bag, and just as we were about to give up hope, my brother spotted it.

We could not have been more relieved and thrilled at the fact that we avoided all the lectures and disappointed words and looks that would’ve come our way. We got down at the next station, took a train to Andheri and then celebrated with some pastries 🍰.”
